Zones landscape featured at Auckland Garden Designfest

Auckland Garden Designfest, run by the Garden Society of New Zealand, features 20 stunning gardens that showcase the work of local landscape designers. Kate Ryan from Zones Auckland Central is very excited to show her garden at 66 Victoria Avenue, Remuera over the weekend of the 16th and 17th of November. 

When Kate's clients decided to rejuvenate their garden, their brief was to create something stunning with a tropical resort feel. Set against the striking black and white exterior of this beautiful home, the planting needed to be bold yet considered. Bursts of colour throughout the planting help to create the striking element sought in the brief. 

The house is located down a long, shared driveway, so importance was placed on creating character at the main entranceway. A specially designed corten steel gate and fence with a backlit number plate have helped to create this unique look. A lot of hard work from the team went into clearing the site and replanting, along with building the balustrade and steps. 

The event's proceeds go to charities: Ronald McDonald House Charities, New Zealand, Garden to Table and Rotary Newmarket’s Charitable Trust (supporting several children’s charities).
