Lush green fields and pastures as far as the eye can see… that and so much more is the Waikato. With Hamilton as its commercial hub, this region is a prolific producer of dairy products and thoroughbred racehorses. The fertile land means that dairy and other agricultural operations flourish, as do landscaping ventures of all shapes and sizes. Enrich and grow your own back garden too, with the help of the local expert team at Zones Landscaping.

Heading the Zones Waikato team as managing partners, Gary Guo and Leah Huang bring solid project management experience and sound business acumen to the business. Gary has more than a decade of business experience in the food industry, while Leah – having graduated from the University of Waikato 10 years ago with a Bachelor of Management Studies – brings an in-depth insight into corporate management accounting and project management. They deal with challenges, manage complex undertakings that involve a large number of different tradespeople, obtain all necessary permits and keep a close eye on the timeline and the budget to ensure your project is a success.

The couple have recently built their own home on a section with a small gully and their goal is to create ultimate serenity with a Zen garden with vegetable beds that blend in seamlessly with the rest of the house. Leah also wants to incorporate a yoga and meditation space in the gully for both of them to fully enjoy the nature of New Zealand. Good landscape design can add value to your property and, more importantly, it can add significant value to the homeowners’ lives and improve their lifestyles dramatically. That’s why Leah, Gary and their team are so passionate about creating functional landscaping design for you, too.

Gary and Leah work with a team of passionate landscape architect and designers, including an experienced architect, a knowledgeable plant specialist, a creative designer and a licensed builder. Site manager Jim overseas each project and ensures everything runs smoothly. He has more than 15 years of construction experience, including hand-on expertise in pool digging, paving and fencing. In addition to the permanent team, Zones Waikato also draws on the skills of reliable and reputable local sub-contractors with their own preferred arborists, electricians, plumbers, stonemasons, excavation specialists, concrete layers, drain layers and swimming pool builders.

There is pretty much no limit to what the team can do – from creating a fun-filled and family-friendly backyard through to building your very own five star resort-style sanctuary. Zones has completed hundreds of projects across the country, showcasing many different garden styles such as Japanese and tropical gardens, native planting schemes and outdoor entertaining areas. Water features and fireplaces can add extra luxurious touches while raised garden beds and planter boxes provide an efficient, edible garden space.

Together, the Zones Waikato team covers the following suburbs: Beerescourt, Chartwell, Chedworth Park, Claudelands, Deanwell, Dinsdale, Enderley, Fairfield, Fairview Downs, Fitzroy, Flagstaff, Forest Lake, Frankton, Glenview, Hamilton East, Hamilton North, Hamilton West, Hillcrest, Livingstone, Maeroa, Melville, Nawton, Pukete, Queenwood, Rototuna, Saint Andrews, Silverdale, Te Rapa, Western Heights, Whitiora, and Temple View.
